First job experience essay

A time table and a training schedule was drawn up and we were asked to keep to the schedule and report on time everyday at the appointed place and meet the named officer for further instructions and guidance. That was my first day at my first job in my career, as an engineer fresh from the classroom.

Y ou are here to take training. So go out and take it. Don’t expect our busy executives to spoon feed you. They are totally preoccupied with production. The whole steel plant is an open book. Don’t merely go looking around the various plants like a sight seeing tourist. Spend time on each of the production shops. Observe. Ask questions.

It’s a proud moment, when you are old enough to earn your own money. First job experiences are also formative. Not only do they teach you the value of hard work and money — they also shape your understanding of the world. They increase your self-confidence and self-sufficiency.

Got the first cheque book in my life issued. Went straight to the post office. Wrote my first cheque payable to my mother for Rs 100/-with my heart beating fast and furious, as I put my signature on it, and sent it by post without any covering letter to surprise her.I was unmarried then.I saw that cheque again in 2006.
